Ending poverty, empowering women and fighting climate change are some of the sustainable development goals(SDG) that are been addressed by Africa youth bus fare.The pictures above is a skill aquisition workshop that took place in a local community church for women an young girls.
Aim
- This workshop was aimed at using waste plastic bottles and transform them into beauty items for women.
-. Give youths skills to start up small businesses.
- To raise the economic and financial status of young women.
- To enable each youth to be self-sustaining even outside their local communities.
This training was able to empower 30 youths from different denominational background on preserving the environment from plastic pollution to bangles and earrings.These youths were encouraged at the end of the training to go back and apply the skills and set up small businesses for themselves.
Challenges
- The need for volunteers with diverse professional background.Trainings are mostly carried out by the founders of Africa youth bus fare.
- Limited financial resources as we aimed at supporting those willing to continue in the craft for a living.
